Agreed. Stupid myth 'doesn't kill..make you stronger' finally got a proper response. Folks would create the utter stupidities and pass them on onto another generations without nobody stopping for a while and give it a benefit of the doubt. There are things that may sound super motivational.. but when you actually think about them, you get to realize they're entirely senseless.
I really like this. I have a friend that suffered a lot growing up, she now shakes and has a permanent stutter (much like how you've typed here) because of her traumas. This simple image speaks truths.
Well no, of course not! What I meant was you are responsible for how you are affected. If you are being abused, it is your responsibility to not let that destroy you. People aren't necessarily products of their environment. They have choices. I know a guy who was abused by his mother quite often. He chose to not let that ruin him. If we felt disturbed by it, he'd get help, and he is now a relatively healthy person. You can't just blame every quirk and fear on some event in your past and say "Well, it happened, so I'm this way now and forever." If you realize you have a problem, do the responsible thing and get help. Now, I realize that there are people with mental and emotional disabilities, and that's understandable, but even then, people with bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia, IED, PTSD, or autism should still be held accountable for their actions because they should be getting help. If they're too disturbed and beyond reclamation, to the point that they're a hazard to themselves and everyone around them, then they should be institutionalized. In the end, you are responsible for you.
